Summary:
Finding Neverland tells the story of James Barrie (Johnny Depp), the writer of the famous children?s story Peter Pan. The movie begins showing Barrie lamenting over a play that flopped at the theater. He moves on to find a group of four young brothers in the park as he attempts to redeem himself for his poor showing as a playwright. Barrie and the boys spend a summer using their imagination and giving Barrie ideas for what would become one of the most popular children?s story of all time.

Why You Should See This Movie:
Finding Neverland is one of the most impressive movies of this year due to it?s incredible successes in every facet of film. First of all, the acting performances will most definitely get the attention of the academy awards. Johnny Depp continues his uncanny streak of brilliant performances with a character that seemed built for him. The ease at which he slides into the character is absolutely perfection. The supporting cast of Kate Winslet (the boys? mother), Dustin Hoffman (the owner of Barrie?s theater), as well as the four boys was equally impressive. The boy who plays Peter is particularly impressive and delivers some of the most impressive lines of the year. And that is just the acting. The film is very entertaining beginning quickly and keeping you interested in either the fabulous interaction between Barrie and the boys or the slowly degrading relationship between Barrie and his wife. The film is presented beautifully with wonderful backgrounds, appropriate music, and wonderful filming effects. The colors are stunning and the costumes are perfection. After all of this incredible praise, the story itself leaves nothing behind as well. The insight to how Barrie came up with the magical story of neverland, peter pan, and the idea of never growing up was intriguing. Also, the surrounding events that Barrie experienced make the story of Peter Pan so much more powerful.

Why You Shouldn't See This Movie:
While this is not a reason not to see this film, it is worth noting that this film about Peter Pan is not one for kids. My 4 year old was bored through much of the film, as the movie was not geared to entertain children.

Conclusion:
Finding Neverland is a magical instant classic film that will last for as long as the story of Peter Pan has entertained adults and children around the world.
